More about Craig Redfern, DO

Dr. Redfern has practiced Osteopathic Manipulation since 1983. He first encountered OMT techniques in 1976 through, friend and colleague, G. Dean Patterson, DO who exposed him to the influential work of Ontario, Oregon-based Osteopath Larry Jones.

Originally slated for a career in Ornithology, Dr. Redfern attended Reed College as a biology major, but shifted his focus to investigate the neurophysiological basis for OMT and the conditions it treats. Inspired by the gentle effectiveness of OMT, he pursued Osteopathic Medical School—studying at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following Osteopathic Medical School, he returned to his hometown of Portland, OR with his wife where he completed an internship at Eastmoreland Hospital and his residency in Internal Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. He has practiced Internal Medicine since 1987. First, practicing at the Model Cities Health Center (Saint Paul, MN) through a National Health Services Scholarship and then, during his Fellowship in General Internal Medicine. He additionally taught Internal Medicine in the Providence Portland Internal Medicine Residency program for six years.

In 2001, Dr. Redfern and Cynthia Ferrier, MD co-founded Integral Health with a mission to provide patient-centered integrative healthcare by offering Osteopathic Manipulation, Naturopathic Medicine, Primary Care, and Acupuncture.

In 2008 he established a solo practice including Primary Care and Osteopathic Manipulation.
